Future Fusion 2024 was a conference that was conducted aiming the millennial and Gen Z youth from the plantation community in Sri Lanka with the objective of empowering the youth community in Sri Lanka through educational and cultural exchange, skill development and community integration. It was held on the 22nd of June at SLIIT Kandy Uni, Pallekale. Youth from all around the island including Jaffna, Puttalam, NuwaraEliya, Colombo Kandy, etc. participated in this conference.

The program idea was initiated by the Ministry of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development and the program was organized by AIESEC in Sri Lanka.

The honourable chief guest for the day was Mr J. Thondaman the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development. There he spoke of the importance of stepping out of the boundaries and becoming leaders ourselves.

The event comprised of many interactive events such as panel discussions, networking spaces, career space, skill workshops, A cultural night followed by a DJ and two keynote speeches from renowned personalities in the country that have time and again proven their excellence in sports. The conference was moderated by Mr. Ahmed Yoosuf. The first keynote speaker was Mr Dilantha Malagamuwa, the Sri Lankan motor sports racer and the second was delivered by the all-time Sri Lankan cricket idol Mr Kumar Sangakkara. A keynote delivered by Mr. Nalin B. Karunaratne the Director/CEO of Ceylon Biscuits Limited and CBL Exports (Pvt) Limited spoke on  Empowering youth to shape the future and seize career opportunities by embracing innovation and strategic mind-set. Towards the latter part of the conference a panel discussion was held which was attended by Dr. Harsha Subasinghe Founder and CEO of CodeGen Group of Companies, a leading IT company in Sri Lanka, Mr Kamal Geeganage  COO of CBL Foods International private limited and Mr. Aritha Wickramasinghe Legal Advisor, Presidential Secretariat, Advisor to the Minister of Water Supply and Estate Infrastructure Development. The discussion space focused on the topic of “Future of Work”.

The career space included stalls which was attended by cooperate agents from CBL Pvt. Ltd , BOC , Sunshine Holdings and Sampath Bank PLC which gave the opportunity for the delegates to face direct recruitment interviews. The career space also included a Mock interview station and a CV Review station done by Member Committee of AIESEC in Sri Lanka.

Towards the night the conference ended in an enjoyable cultural night which included performances of a Bharatha Dance carried out by Dancers from University of Colombo and a Ravana dance done by Manikhinna art academy. The night was hosted by Mrs. Dunithi Leuwanduwa which ended with a DJ party.
