Transporting attendees into the enchanting world of Harry Potter, the Rotaract Club of the Faculty of Medicine, University Of Colombo, orchestrated a magical evening known as the Yule Ball on November 17th, 2023, held at the University of Colombo – Faculty of Medicine Tower. Filled with the essence of the wizarding realm, this Harry Potter-themed dance night was a spellbinding experience. Participants delved into the spirit of the wizarding world from the very moment they were sorted into houses by the illustrious Sorting Hat.
The event featured an array of exciting activities, including Harry Potter-themed games, food, a DJ-led dance night, and an eagerly anticipated Harry Potter Merchandise raffle draw that left attendees bewitched. The venue was decorated with meticulous attention to detail, adorned with iconic Harry Potter symbols, floating candles, Hogwarts letters suspended in mid-air, and a captivating display of the Hogwarts Expressway train. It was an atmosphere steeped in magic.
Cosplay enthusiasts brought beloved Harry Potter characters to life, adding to the excitement of the evening. Notably, the dance floor, sparkled with fairy lights, provided the perfect setting for attendees to immerse themselves in the festivities.
The event’s charm extended to every corner, including the elaborately decorated game stalls aligned with the distinct characteristics of the four houses. Among the highlights was the intriguing inclusion of a Chamber of Secrets, adding an air of mystery and adventure.
